The TEN Professional Development Consultant works collaboratively with the TEN team and our nationwide and international TEN members of school districts and schools with the development of TEN content, facilitation of TEN workshops, and professional development experiences for district leadership, school leadership, and teachers. The TEN PD Consultant is among a team of consultants, coaches, collaborators, presenters, and facilitators within and across districts to support district and school leadership by facilitating professional development for the implementation and sustainment of community responsive school culture and practices.
Support TEN and its’ ongoing refinement of the process and platform to improve service to our clients and to be able to coach other consultants on function and fidelity to the tool.
Collaborate with TEN team to develop context-specific content for each district and school site.
Lead coaching calls with TEN Teacher Leaders to dialogue through problems of practice.
Provide guidance to district and school leadership teams to develop goals that are aligned with TEN philosophy of community responsiveness and equity.
Develop capacity of district/school leadership teams to build a commitment of growing a learning culture of community responsiveness and equity.
Engage and support district and school leaders in collaborative praxis learning circles to develop leaders and teachers grow toward a pedagogy of community responsiveness and equity.
Implement and sustain a collaborative coaching approach for districts/school leaders to become more reflexive practitioners.
Ensure a link between professional development and a change in practice by building capacity to monitor and inform improvements of school-wide and classroom practices using observation, feedback and reflection.
Assist superintendents and principals with the development, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of aligned School Improvement Plans (SIP).
Provide accurate data and research to leaders to recommend and implement data-driven, research-based school improvement plans and instructional leadership
Meet monthly with TEN team for updates, collaboration, and connection.
This position requires a heavy amount of travel to districts, schools, and conferences nationwide.
At least 5 years of teaching experience.
Previous experience leading and developing PD for teachers.
Master’s and/or Doctorate Degree in Education
Educational Leadership (Administrative) experience.
Coordinating professional learning communities (PLCs).
Effectively working with communities of color.
Experience using TEN platform

This is informed by data collected on our one of a kind online platform from school and district community stakeholders. TEN centers equity as the solution to the most pressing challenges in education. Unfortunately, much of the work around equity has been reduced to quick fixes that do not provide positive, sustainable transformation. Equity work requires a deep inquiry in search of what people really need, desire, and what will effectively provide them with opportunities to achieve self-actualization, self-determination, community and cultural perpetuity. This is highly contingent on the people we serve. In TEN, we believe equity is in pursuit of social justice--the elimination of systemic oppression and the development of community responsive educational spaces where all students, especially those from communities who have been marginalized and traumatized, can thrive.
